Sometimes we’re given a set of “irregular” endings or exceptions, and told to just learn them. But it can be nice to know why certain words behave as they do. The reasons can often be found in how the language developed over time – a topic that can’t always be covered in beginning classes. In this video we’ll see why we say в лесу, на носу, with -у instead of the expected ending -е, and why that might remind us of… oxen.
